New MaxDB 7.6 beta released

The new version 7.6 of MaxDB by MySQL has been released! This release is a beta version, preparing for the production version release, which will take place in Q2 2005.

The new MaxDB 7.6 delivers several good benefits:

  • Simplified installation process, with the released version of the Installation Manager GUI
  • Increased High Availability, as database parameters now can be changed in ONLINE operational mode
  • Easier administration, through automatic update of statistics to ensure optimal optimizer performance
  • Improved Storage management, as reduction and automatic extension of data volumes can be done in full operational state
  • Better backup reliability, as log backup checks can be performed
  • Performance improvements, through new parallel log writing and volume formatting, and through shared catalog cache and shared prepared SQL statement caches
